Life is a precious gift from God. Although life's journey is not always easy and often full of twists and turns, every day the Lord gives us remains a blessing.
The movie Viva La Vida, which means “Live with Spirit,” tells the true story of two young people who had to live amidst serious life-threatening illnesses and uncertainty about the future. From the story in this film, we can learn that this fragile life should make us appreciate every relationship and every opportunity God gives us every day even more.
True life has both laughter and tears, miracles and waiting, health and sickness. Therefore, we should not wait to lose someone or something before realizing its value. Every morning, every breath, and every heartbeat is a gift from God because we do not know what will happen tomorrow, and life is like a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes (James 4:14).
But God not only gives life; as children of God, we also experience God's provision. As it is written in John 10:10, Jesus came so that man might have life in abundance. Abundant life is not merely wealth or success, but a life that has purpose, love, a calling to serve, and knowledge of God.
In life, there will be seasons where we pass through the valley of the shadow of death, but the Lord walks with us (Psalm 23:4). God is present when we rejoice and when we cry, when prayers are answered and when we are still waiting. The Holy Spirit within us gives strength, courage, comfort, and hope.
As followers of Christ, faith is one important and inseparable factor. But faith does not depend on the results we desire; rather, our faith is solely in Christ.
The movie Viva La Vida also illustrates that humans are not designed to live alone, just as God created Adam and Eve. Relationships based on Christ can transform a relationship that was initially transactional into a life full of love. Likewise, as members of the body of Christ, the church is called to support and strengthen one another, not to judge or turn a blind eye.
Each of us has limited time; therefore, let us live with purpose today by loving, forgiving, praying, serving, worshipping, giving, and proclaiming the Good News. We do not know how much time is left, but we know that today is the day the Lord has entrusted to each of us.
Remain enthusiastic in living life with the Lord. Bring every fear, suffering, problem, and future to Jesus, for He came so that we may have life, and have it to the full.
