THE MAIN ACTOR
“Jeremiah 22:1-12; James 1:22”
“For if you will do these things, then through the gates of this palace will enter kings who will sit on David’s throne, riding in chariots and on horses, with their officials and their people.” (Jeremiah 22:4)
In the creation of a script for a story to be filmed or staged, there must be a main actor or a prominent main role. A story will not be interesting if there is no main actor, meaning it's unclear who the main role is and who the supporting role is.
In the shooting of a film product, the first thing sought is the main actor, because this is the key to the success of a film. For this reason, many artists strive to get this position, because besides the large honorarium, if the film is successful, their popularity also increases.
However, this situation often contrasts with their daily lives. The role in the film is good, but in reality, their life is a mess. Conversely, those who play antagonistic roles appear very evil in the film but are not so in reality.
Christian life should be a life that pursues the predicate of being the main actor, meaning the main actor of the truth of God's word. If every Christian has the mindset of being the main actor in doing the truth of God's word, then a heavenly atmosphere will radiate in their daily life.
Not only that, the passage above strengthens us: "For if you will do these things, then through the gates of this palace will enter kings who will sit on David’s throne, riding in chariots and on horses, with their officials and their people,..." What meaning can be taken from this passage? If we truly become doers of the Word, then God's blessings will flow. Our lives will surely be sustained, miracles will certainly happen.
Therefore, let us work hard and encourage each other to be the main actors in doing the truth of God's word.
Reflection: There is an expression that says this world is like a stage play, meaning many people are hypocritical in their lives. What is said does not match their actions.
Therefore, James 1:22 warns: “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
Let us make ourselves the main actors in doing the truth of God's word.
