A mother is not just a person who gives birth and raises children, but also someone God uses to build families, safeguard faith, and provide spiritual influence for many people.
The Bible says in Ephesians 6:2, "Honor your father and mother." This command shows that honoring a mother is not merely a tradition or culture, but a command from God. Therefore, every child needs to learn to appreciate, love, and thank their mother. No one comes into this world without a mother.
In the Bible, there are many extraordinary women. But today we learn from a woman named Deborah. She lived during a time when the nation of Israel was under great pressure. Israel was oppressed by Jabin, king of Canaan, and his commander, Sisera, who had 900 iron chariots. For 20 years, the people of Israel lived in fear. But in the midst of that difficult situation, God raised up Deborah.
1. Woman: you are called and appointed to be God's representative! As a prophetess, Deborah became God's representative to deliver His word and will to His people. This teaches that a woman is also called to have a strong spiritual life. True beauty is not just seen outwardly, but comes from a heart that fears the Lord, is gentle, calm, and filled with God's word.
2. The Two Best Gifts from a wife are Loving God and Honoring your Husband! The Bible mentions Deborah as the wife of Lappidoth. This shows that even though Deborah was used by God in an extraordinary way, she still had a role in her family. A good wife is someone who loves God and honors her husband. When a family lives in love and respect, children will more easily see God's word through the example of their parents.
3. God can use, equip, and anoint Women to be leaders! Deborah became a judge over Israel. She gave direction, led the nation, and was God's instrument to bring restoration. This proves that God can use women to be wise, courageous, and impactful leaders. True leadership is born from a life close to God.
4. Rise Up as a Mother! Deborah rose up as a mother in Israel. Deborah did not just lead by position, but with the heart of a mother. She rose when her nation was afraid, weak, and lost direction. A true mother brings calm, counsel, prayer, and guidance to the way of the Lord. Today, God is also looking for women like Deborah: women who are spiritual, faithful in their families, strong in leadership, and have the heart of a mother. May every mother rise up to be a light, a guide, and a blessing to their family, church, and the next generation.
The Lord Jesus Blesses.
